What to do with the number
- Inverters are rated in VA or kW. Match the suggested VA figure or the next size up.
- Air conditioners and pumps draw two to three times their running watts for a moment at start.
- Not everything runs at once. If you never run the iron and the AC together, size for the realistic peak.
- Sanctioned load matters for net metering. An inverter above it is the most common rejection.
